Roofing Across the Town of Islip
The Town of Islip covers a large swath of central Suffolk County and includes communities with very different housing stocks and roofing needs.
South Shore hamlets (Bay Shore, Islip, East Islip, West Islip, Sayville, Bayport). These communities sit near or on the Great South Bay. Salt air exposure, storm vulnerability, and proximity to the water all affect roofing material selection and installation detail.
Inland communities (Central Islip, Brentwood, Bohemia, Ronkonkoma, Holbrook). These areas have less salt exposure but more tree coverage. Housing stock is predominantly 1960s-1970s ranches, capes, and colonials with moderate roof areas.
MacArthur Airport area. Homes near Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma see higher noise levels but no unusual roofing challenges. Standard materials and installation work fine.
Islip permits. The Town of Islip building department processes permits relatively quickly — 5-10 business days for most residential roofing permits. Fees are based on project value. We pull permits in Islip routinely.

Reviews
Review 1: "Tom's crew replaced our East Islip colonial roof in three days during a week when rain was forecast twice. They watched the weather like hawks and timed the tear-off perfectly. Not a drop of water got inside." — Richard P., East Islip · GAF HDZ · 2025
